The Frick Art and Historical Center is open to the public thanks to the generosity of Helen Clay Frick. Throughout her life, Helen retained a fondness for "Clayton", her childhood home. It was her wish that Clayton and the surrounding estate be preserved and opened to the public after her death. Visit Clayton, the restored turn-of-the-century home of industrialist Henry Clay Frick. Formerly the home of steel baron Henry Clay Frick. Visitors can tour the Frick mansion and grounds tour guides are knowledgeable, if highly sympathetic to the controversial Frick. (Reservations recommended.) There is also free admission to a car and carriage museum, and a diminutive art gallery featuring special exhibits and works from the Frick collection. Closed Mondays.
