It's breakfast that draws the crowds, starting well before dawn. The potato menu is a delight: your choice of homefries cooked plain, or with onions, green peppers, or cheese. Eggs are expertly cooked; for those with large appetites, Becky's offers a "Titanic Omelet," which is four eggs with bacon, ham, sausage, cheese, onions, and peppers.

Becky's has been written up in Gourmet magazine, but that obviously hasn't gone to the proprietor's head. This waterfront institution is in a squat maroon building of concrete on the not-so-quaint end of the waterfront. It has drop ceilings, fluorescent lights, and scruffy counters, booths, and tables. It opens early (4am) to cater to local fishermen grabbing a cup of joe and some eggs
